As an impulse buy I've just purchased Yep via today's MacUpdate Promo. I am impressed and so far so good. At the moment Yep doesn't support Mailsmith (my preferred e-mail client) for e-mailing PDFs but he workaround for now is just to drag'n'drop a PDF onto Mailsmith so it's not a big deal. I've asked the developers to consider Mailsmith support in a future version.

Until I used Yep I had no idea I had so many PDFs (>2000) lying around. As a university lecturer Yep seems to be an ideal way to organise my chaotic PDF collection.

Jim also linked for the first time to the reason for the Origin of Willing To Fail. Reading that I was struck how close it was to my own situation. I have to thank Jim for the inspiration and motivation that has helped to snap me out of my own procrastination.

I've just signed up for Picasa Web Albums and have also downloaded (and installed) the iPhoto exporter plug-in and the Uploader app. Now all I need to do is sort out some photos!

I've just upgraded to the latest versions of MarsEdit and NetNewsWire. A great combination. Can't promise that it'll make my posts more frequent and/or more informative but now that the exam marking season is over you never know ;-)

The Honours Exam Board for the Computer Science, Computer and Electronic Systems, and related degrees met today to consider the classification of degrees that will be awarded to our undergraduates at the graduation later this month. Between now and the Graduation the students' correct title is "graduand". Well done to al my students. It's always a proud day for me when I get to see my students' hard work rewarded.

Speaking of Exam Boards and Graduands, I am immensely proud of the fact that my daughter, Heather, today was awarded a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (with Distinction) by the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies of the University of Edinburgh.
