Lifewise: Work: Are you a procrastinator?

(by Duncan, @ 2:42 PM)

via hbwt - Lifewise: Work: Are you a procrastinator?

I admit to being a procrastinator. I'll get round to doing something about it tomorrow ;-)

In fact, I started de-junking my office yesterday. I took some 'time-lapse' photos but all they seem to show is my office getting untidier B-} More de-junking up when I get back into the office tomorrow. Hopefully by the end of that day I'll be able to see my desk-tops again!

I didn't procrastinate - I've just bought a copy of The Procrastinator's Handbook: Mastering the Art of Doing It Now. Perhaps it should be required reading for my students? ;-)

I should be a more regular reader of the weblogs by David McCusker, Simon St. Laurent and Paul Snively. Smart people all.

My favourite quote from the Metafilter thread about Test the Nation
I'm never going to England, the place apparently makes me stupid.

BBC - Test the Nation

(by Duncan, @ 3:25 PM)

My brother Richard and my sister-in-law Joy came round last night. We ended up watching the BBC - Test the Nation programme and, for a laugh, took part in the IQ test. Given the fact that we were also chatting and partaking of wine, or beer, and snacks, we probably didn't do ourselves justice ;-)

RealNames and Microsoft

(by Duncan, @ 11:00 PM)

Dave's RealNames and Microsoft replication of news from Keith Teare's Web Site is less likely to suffer link-rot. Here are Mr Teare's words from his current home page:
Last Tuesday Microsoft informed me that it was not renewing RealNames Corporation's contract to resolve Keywords in the IE browser. When the current contract comes to an end on 28 June 2002 the service will be terminated.

I am no longer an employee of RealNames. Along with 79 others I was terminated on Friday 10 May, 5 years after starting the company.

I am sure that Microsoft will do an excellent job of misinforming the public about the reasons for this decision and so I want to put the record straight...

Apple advises on ejecting copy-protected audio CDs

(by Duncan, @ 11:16 PM)

via hbwt | More trouble with copy-protected CDs - Apple advises on ejecting copy-protected audio CDs
By now many consumers are aware that the music industry is beginning to press audio discs that have been copy protected to prevent them from being ripped to MP3 on a PC or Macintosh. But did you know that in some cases, if you insert such a disc, you might not be able to get it out again?...
