College students tell how well they learn

Among the findings were:

• Fewer than 15% of students come close to studying two hours for every hour they spend in class, an established measure of proper class preparation.
  
  
• Almost one in five freshmen said they "never" made a class presentation during their first year, and 46% never discussed readings or ideas with a professor outside of class.
