This isn't actually as stupid as it first appears. When you read the full story the guy put that particular track'scomposers down as being himself, and John Cage, since the latter had previously had a track of silence on one of his album's and he was a fan.

Whether it was silence or not, I guess if you put someone else down as co-artist on a track on your CD they're entitled to the royalties.

He should've just left it as being written by him and saved himself a fair bit of cash, I doubt any judge in his right mind would've said that that was plaigerism. mind you, in America...
