Thanks for asking. It's my understanding that a 'changes' URL
linking to an XML version of recent changes needs to be submitted via
the prefs page - http://www.weblogs.com/prefs/ <http://www.weblogs.com/prefs/> . In the case of my
(defunct) Manila weblog the XMLised changes are at
http://duncan.weblogs.com/xml/scriptingnews2.xml <http://duncan.weblogs.com/xml/scriptingnews2.xml>
I'm trying to find out of there is an alternative way of getting weblogs.com to
recognise changes but so far no luck.
Duncan, that can't be the case. I simply put the current URL of my weblog in my preferences, left the "changes URL" blank, and it's operated properly the entire time I've been on Conversant. My understanding is that the changes URL concept is for those times when you have something on your home page that changes regularly but isn't new content (like the oh-so-trendy random quotes that all the Conversant users seem to be into nowadays).
